The participants were divided into 10 groups with 3 people. Each group discussed how a community is built and maintained on the basis of using free and open source software. Ten different communities were presented. Though each community differ from each other, like for Medical practitioners, educators, IT experts, et.al., they were all built on the principles and freedom ideas of FOSS.

The reporting of each group was done simultaneously, the speedgeeking way. The sharing of ideas, expressing of opinions and clarifications of statements were enjoyed by all participants.

The participants were given a task of creating a community for the Asia Source 3 family. Groups were created according to the needs that the group identified with the guidance of the facilitators. Thus, development group was formed, infrastructure group followed next, content writers identified, marketing group created and a report-back group formed. Each group identified their leader and in turn will form the core group which will be guided and supported by the facilitators.
